Contact Support
Questions, problems, a road that's missing or wrong on the map, or a rider report that should be removed:
Please include your iPhone model and the build number shown at the bottom of the Checklist tab.
Using the map with no signal
- Before you leave coverage, open the Offline tab, pick an area and download it on Wi-Fi.
- Your iPhone's GPS works without cell service, so your position shows on downloaded maps anywhere.
- To check a download, turn on Airplane Mode and look at that area of the map.
Get me back to my truck
- Tap the truck button on the map where you park. When iPhone asks, choose Allow While Using App, then Change to Always Allow, so the trail back is recorded with your phone in your pocket.
- Tap the button again to see the arrow and distance back. Tap I'm back to stop.
- If you chose "While Using," you can change it in Settings → Big Sky Backroads → Location.
Hunting districts, Block Management and landowners
- Tap anywhere on the map to see the hunting district, Block Management Area or landowner there.
- Property lines and owner names appear when you zoom in close.
- Map information comes from Montana FWP, the Montana State Library, the U.S. Forest Service and the BLM. Always check current FWP regulations, Block Management rules and the Motor Vehicle Use Map before you hunt or drive. Landowner information is not a legal survey.
Big Sky Pro subscription
- Big Sky Pro is $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year and adds offline downloads, satellite maps, landowner names, hunting districts, Block Management, legal route layers and ride recording.
- New phone? Open the app and tap Restore purchases on the Big Sky Pro screen or the Checklist tab.
- Cancel or change your plan: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Rider reports
Road condition pins and missing roads come from other riders. Keep them about the road. You can report a pin or hide a rider's pins from the pin's card, and we remove anything offensive or false.
